With the weather getting cold and days getting shorter it’s time to start getting XmasRadio up and going again. We are less then a month from getting the station online (December 1). As always there is a lot of work to do before we get started so it is time to roll up the sleeves and get down to business.

Step one will be to determine the charity that proceeds from the Radio will be donated to.

Step two will be to push out what is playing on Twitter and various other social networks to build up the number of listeners again.

Step three will be to find advertisers and sponsors who wish to run a contest.

Radio Launch Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be the official launch of the Radio station. We have about 4 days of music now that will be randomly played. This year we have added the following CD’s…

We have put up our advertising page where you can book your radio spots and other advertising now. Remember that all revenue generated by XmasRadio.ca will be donated to the charity that you vote on.

Did we miss anything to easily monetize the site?

Facebook Application in Development

One way I want to promote XmasRadio.ca this year is to use a bit of the viral nature of Facebook Applications. Development of the application has started and will be the first of it’s kind on Facebook.

Users will be able to add the application to their profile and invite others to add it to their profile. The application will show what is currently playing and the basic stats of XmasRadio.ca.

Once the script is done we will most likely make it open source and allow other radio stations to modify the code to have their sites show up in Facebook profiles.

Radio Liners in the Can

I decided to take Jeff’s offer up in our comments for creating our Radio Liners and I am very impressed. I submitted my order for 3 and he had them done in less then 12 hours. The quality is excellent and I am very pleased with the whole process. The cost per liner was $14.95 USD which I think is economical for this type of service. Were moving right along here and should be online in no time at all.

I am relatively happy with the theme and was really impressed that all the plug-ins I wanted were already made.

Now on to the task of finding someone to make our radio liners. A radio liner is when a station announces who they are. For example, “Your now listening to the today’s best music Xmas Radio dot ca”.

Another year has flown by already and we’re less then a month away from XmasRadio.ca going live online. There is a lot of work to do before we get started so it is time to roll up the sleeves and get down to business.

Step three will be to determine the charity that proceeds from the Radio will be donated to.

Step four will be to create a promotion system for the station so people can promote it on their blog and facebook.
